Chorion Villous sampling
This is a Diagnostic test that can be done between 11 to14 weeks of pregnancy, In is done under ultrasound control by the transvaginal or transabdominal route. The chorionic villi are separated from blood clots and placed in tube filled with saline. These villi are sent to the laboratory, where they are subjected to various test such as karyotyping, FISH, array CGH, q PCR or NGS. This is a confirmatory test. Side effects can be failure to collect villi, miscarriage, infection, bleeding, limb shortening (if done early and transvaginal)
